GASSYS: Evacuating the Head-Space Vial.

A Nalgene hand-pump is used to evacuate the head-space vial. Subsequently a syringe is inserted through the septum and the septum valve is opened, allowing the partial vacuum to extract a predetermined volume of the sample.
